Turmeric Latte

A Turmeric Latte is perfect if you want to switch things up or take a break from coffee. It's delicious and has numerous  health benefits. Turmeric has been known as a 'superfood' for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It can also help treat type 2 diabetes, by keeping blood sugar levels consistent. It has also recently been used to help treat cancers and ease depression - although studies for this are still on going. There really isn't much this superfood can't do.

  • 350ml almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • grind of black pepper

The method is simple enough. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk constantly over a gentle heat, (ideally with a milk frother if you have one.) Once hot, pour into mugs and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve. Then enjoy your nice hot beverage, and reap in all the health benefits!
