Yorks Cafe is a 10 year old business this year, as the granddaddy's of Birminghams casual restaurant scene we are looking for an experienced baker to join us and help be part of a team of people to grow our business.

We are looking at developing breads, not just sourdough but authentic worldwide breads to elevate the provenance of our ideas, bake off in store products, cake ranges, events sweets and desserts for our more restauranty ventures. We need you to be flexible, passionate about food and have a thirst to learn and develop. Working predominantly at the central production unit, you will take the reigns when the group Head Chef is away from the central production unit and ensure everything is sent out correct and in a timely manner:


Key Responsiblities


  • To undertake the bakery range within the correct cost ranges in accordance with our food management tools
  • To ensure production of the range to a highest standard
  • Site visits with store managers to do spot checks on quality control
  • Stock management and rotation
  • Maintain a low holding ingredient stock to aid better use of cash flows
  • Produce our premium dessert ranges for our new stores
  • Answerable to the group Head Chef / Operations Manager
  • Overseeing general production at the central production unit
  • Organising dispatch
